The improvements made to the mail system on Monday have had incredible results. While there is still room to improve the mail features (bulk items), the responsiveness is now awesome. Dreading use of the in-game mail system is now a thing of the past.

With faster performance and higher frame rates for graphically demanding 3D games like Quake, Call of Duty, and Spore, MacBook Pro plays like a console — an extremely portable one. But what about WAR? Will the new Nvidia chipset be able to handle the hammer? I’m sure someone here will let you know as soon [...]

I read that there were some issue with the rollout but by the time I logged in last night, 1.02 was running smoothly. Two changes that pleased me greatly are the “join all” button for scenario (even though there was an addon that did this) and the realization that talisman making was completely screwed and [...]

Apparently there were around 500,000 people completely fed up with WoW…or just bored waiting for WotLK. Half a million users have registered to play Mythic’s Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, according to publisher Electronic Arts. The figures come after only one week on sale, with EA claiming the title is the fastest-selling MMO of all [...]

The mail system is horrid. Mythic really needs to spend some time playing WoW (with the postal addon) to understand what a truly terrible job they have done on this feature. The overall interaction is painfully slow but here are some more specific gripes; – A 20 second forced delay between sending mail is great [...]

Stonetroll Keep was among those pulling a vanishing act tonight. It was clear that the Order players assaulting the keep had no such problem as they were following the path up the ramp and couldn’t pursue through the invisible walls. I was able to melee those that were on the ground (really on the ground [...]

The headstart has ended and from the customer perspective was a roaring success. Introducing players in waves while at the same time giving them the perception of a reward was a brilliant strategy. The pre-order revenue surely did much to boost confidence for the bean counters at EA. The traditional first day slam was avoided [...]
